TECH PLANTER is an acceleration and pitch competition focusing on Deep Tech (we call it Real Tech). We conduct this program to provide startups with mentoring, fundraising and market expansion opportunities in Asia, especially in Japan. Winners will receive a trip to Singapore or Japan to pursue angel investment and corporate partnerships. Leave a Nest’s science communicators works with founders each and every day. Savitri Tan is an experienced startup advisor and operator. She is currently working with Isomer Capital, an investor in London and has worked with over 600 founders in her former role as Head of the Company Building Programme at Entrepreneur First, where she helped to devise, implement and scale a programme to help 200 individuals a year start a tech company from scratch. Prior to this she worked in marketing and branding and also for the UK government.
Mr. Satoshi Yamanaka received his M.S. degree from Osaka City University. He specializes in Electrical Engineering. He had developed high quality picture technologies for Mitsubishi Electric products such as TV and Diamond Vision in Advanced Technology R&D Center for thirteen years. He moved to the department driving open innovation three years ago and exploring new technologies to upgrade their products and services for future market.
Jialin Wang receives her MSc Degree from University of Bristol. She joined Rolls-Royce plc in 2014 and did four rotations at Production Test Facility, National Composites Centre, Engine Repair and Overhaul, and Design& Make Bristol office during her Manufacturing Graduate Scheme. Now she is a capability acquisition manufacturing engineer at Experimental developing new technology for Development engine and UltraFan®.

Ecosystem Development Manager at Deep Science Ventures. Previously business mentor at Australia's leading business incubator, Cicada Innovations. Worked with over 70 advanced tech start-ups in areas of customer development, capital raising and business growth. Managed a med-tech commercialization training program helping 9 companies raise over $13M in private and public investment over two years.
Commercial Director of the UK National Centre for commercialising Engineering Biology based at Imperial College London, SynbiCITE (www.synbicite.com). SynbiCITE is tasked with growing industry based on using the engineering of biology to ‘do useful things and make useful stuff to heal us, feed us and fuels us’. John helps turn ‘upstarts into start-ups and start-ups to become grown ups’ through business incubation and acceleration programmes designed specifically for SynbiCITE.
Tim is the founder of the Rain Gods, a consultancy focussed on helping universities and governments develop support for start ups and entrepreneurs, which currently manages four incubation and acceleration programmes. He holds visiting posts at Loughborough and Cambridge universities, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and holds the Queens Award for Enterprise Promotion.
Antonio Sainz is a theoretical physicist and also founder of architectectual firm. He has founded over 50 companies in various sectors such as real estate and hostelry. In 2013 he founded the European Institute for Entrepreneurship (EIE) where he currently acts as both founder and Executive President.
