We conduct this program to provide startups with mentoring, fundraising and market expansion opportunities in Asia, especially in Japan. One of the startups he was supporting called Euglena Co., Ltd. was listed in the First section of Tokyo Stock exchange. Heʼ s expert in advising young entrepreneur in business development and venture spirit.
Mr. Yano had served as a project coordinator to Japanese S&T funding agency for 7 years in Singapore and joined Mitsui Chemicals in 2017. Currently he is working at Singapore’s R&D Centre to explore new business opportunities based on R&D in Asia Pacific Region. One of his current challenges is to transform the R&D centre to an innovation engine.
Daiki Kumamoto is the youngest capitalist of the deep-tech startup ecosystem in Japan and is the growth manager of Real Tech Fund. He is specialized in supporting startups, especially that bring solutions to care / welfare and is also the head for global strategy. Before joining Real Tech, he was the president of the largest NPO in Japan that commits in supporting young entrepreneurs globally. He graduated from Keio SFC University with a bachelor in management.
Started tech career at LIFULL Co. Ltd., and involved in the product development for “HOME’S” which is one of largest real estate portal websites in Japan. After that first career, supported several startup products especially in the seed stage. Joined Sun* Inc. in 2016, and is currently in charge of management of the Filipino branch both for software development and tech talent development.
Mr. Jacinto Asuncion Jr. or better known as “Jhaze Asuncion” in the industry is currently the Biz Dev Lead of DOST-UPSCALE Innovation Hub of the University of the Philippines - Diliman. An entrepreneur and a startup Co-Founder himself, a mentor in the ecosystem who help launch a number of ventures. He connects the industry challenges to the academe capabilities and government resources assistance. Prior to this startup world, his corporate experiences include international business development for interactive online education services and outsourcing. He also came from the Filipino Food Exports Industry with 45 countries worldwide market. A graduate of BSBA- Major in Exports Management of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Polytechnic University of the Philippines. His research interests are Waste to Energy, R&D Commercialisation, Fintech-ICOs and Food Innovations.
Kat serves as the Director of QBO, a Philippine innovation hub and startup platform. QBO is the first of its kind public-private partnership initiative in the country specifically geared to accelerate the growth of Philippine startup ecosystem and support startup ventures. Kat previously served as Head of Growth and Strategy at IdeaSpace, the Philippines’ largest private startup accelerator, and draws on prior experience working with senior management in corporate development, capital markets and process engineering positions.Kat completed her undergraduate degree at Carnegie Mellon University, obtaining a B.Sc in Materials Science and Engineering, with a double major in Business Administration. Kat is a Filipina millennial that advocates for spurring innovation and technopreneurship as an engine for driving economic growth and global competitiveness in emerging economies.
Carlo Calimon is the co-founder of StartUp Village, a startup enabler based in the Philippines. Carlo is a serial entrepreneur and a startup advocate. He has been working on the development of entrepreneurs and startups in the Philippines for the past 15 years. He is an educator and a mentor through various organizations including Google and AWS. His forte includes among others, developing an entrepreneurial mindset, product development, marketing and innovation.
With a Bachelors of Science degree from Kyushu University in Japan, Ms Dario has more than 20 years of experience in simultaneous programmes for Japanese government technical assistance, requiring coordination with regional government offices, provincial and municipal government, farmers’ cooperatives, industry associations and the private sector. Ms. Dario concurrently serves as Director of several other companies engaged in the fields of construction, renewable energy development, international trade, where she is mainly responsible for technology assessments and business development. Recognizing the innovative technology and its suitability in the Philippines of the world’s first Magnus Vertical Axis Wind Turbine, Challenergy Philippines, Inc. was born from Ms Dario’s strategic alliance with Challenergy Inc of Japan. She is also concurrently a Director of the Center for Emerging Technologies and Innovations of the Philippines, Inc. where she conducts joint research and feasibility studies in the fields of ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT DEVELOPMENT (solar, biomass, waste to energy), renewable resources and technologies ASSESSMENT.
