2024/04/01
On 23 March 2024, Leave a Nest conducted the 52nd installation of TECH PLANTER, named TECH PLANTER World in UK 2024, held in IDEALondon. TECH PLANTER World in UK 2024 saw great interest by more than 20 applications from around the world. Leave a Nest’s core mission to “Advancing Science and Technology Towards Global Happiness” was yet again celebrated through an eventful afternoon of sharings by 9 finalists teams and 7 lightning talk speakers deploying deep-tech innovation to solving real world issues.
With the support of esteemed partners from Mitsubishi Corporation, Delightex Pte. Ltd., Scentmatic Inc., Real Tech Holdings, Cambridge Cleantech, Deep Science Ventures, Innovate UK, and Locate Markets, all 16 startups were given a rare opportunity to be evaluated on their individual core technologies, business models and problem statements. TECH PLANTER continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting researchers and startups around the world who are solving real world issues deploying deep-tech innovation.
From the use of cutting-edge agritech innovation to detect the presence of Red Weevils – a common pest in palm trees, to the reaugmentation of robotics to allow for robots to ‘touch and feel’, our panellists and participating attendees were greeted with the discovery and exchange of new potential solutions to solving key problems we see around the world today.
In this installation of TECH PLANTER, we had the privilege of hosting our partner, Scentmatic Inc. – a company specialising in the use of AI for the creation of perfumes for individuals through user-driven data, who hosted a special segment sharing on their expansion plans into the UK market.
TECH PLANTER UK 2024 was a tremendous success, with the panel of judges left impressed with many of the up and coming innovations by all 16 startups present. In particular, judges commended The Coring Company stating “We were deeply moved by your personal story and the realization of the world's increasing need for minerals. Your commitment to developing efficient technologies that minimize emissions is commendable. We believe your technology is exceptional, and we are delighted to offer our support to The Coring Company.”
Here at Leave a Nest, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to all our finalists, participants, panellists and partners who have made TECH PLANTER UK 2024 a success. All your enthusiasm, feedback and support has been essential in helping make this possible.
