Spinoff Robotics Dominates TECH PLANTER Asia Final Demo Day 2024, Winning Grand Prize for Innovative Solutions

On August 24, 2024, Leave a Nest achieved another significant milestone to host TECH PLANTER Asia Final 2024 Demo Day for the second time in Malaysia. This prestigious event took place at the Aerodyne Campus in Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia, bringing together extraordinary minds from across the region.

The TECH PLANTER Asia Final 2024 was a dynamic event that united the most promising startups and visionary talents from six vibrant countries: the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. This year, 12 finalist teams from these Southeast Asian nations delivered passionate presentations, showcasing the culmination of their journey through the TECH PLANTER competitions held between May and July 2024. TECH PLANTER continues to be a beacon of support for the deep tech ecosystem, with its impact evident in the remarkable advancements showcased at the Asia Final.

This year's DEMO DAY reached new heights of excellence, thanks to the invaluable support of our esteemed partners. JT, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Mizuho Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Ricoh Co., Ltd., ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd., UntroD Inc., and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. collaborated to create an event that highlighted the brightest minds in the industry. We were also privileged to have local partners TERAJU and Aerodyne Group, whose distinct contributions added to the event's success.

Each presentation skillfully conveyed a clear vision of a better future, driven by the participants' deep commitment to addressing critical issues in their respective countries. Their enthusiasm resonated strongly with the audience. Among the impressive group of finalists, one team particularly captured the attention of the distinguished panel of judges. After careful deliberation, Spinoff Robotics emerged as the Grand Winner of TECH PLANTER Asia Final 2024. Spinoff Robotics has developed a groundbreaking solution utilizing drone technology equipped with a proprietary control algorithm that automatically adjusts the drone's position to precisely target dirty areas with effective washing pressure. By automating dangerous tasks, this technology has the potential to significantly reduce human casualties.

Reason for Winning: BIOPS Agrotekno remains highly relevant in the smart agricultural industry, even amidst a crowded market of similar technologies. Team: Altent Renewables

Technology Theme: Altent Hydrothermal Process Transforms Wet Waste into Fuels and Minerals.

Award Inclusions: MYR 3,000 Cash Prize

Reason for Winning: Altent Renewables tackles the challenge of wet waste management by converting it into energy sources and valuable minerals. This solution presents an opportunity for Mitsubishi Electric to explore sustainable business ventures.

Reason for Winning: UntroD has previously successfully scaled up a microalgae startup into a publicly listed company. Entrepreneurs prove their worth through tangible results, as demonstrated by Advanced Greenfarm. UntroD can provide strategic support to help this team advance in the market.

YAMAHA MOTOR AWARD

Team: Filrobotics Technologies

Technology Theme: Navigation System for Agricultural Tractors.

Award Inclusions: MYR 3,000 Cash Prize

Reason for Winning: Filrobotics Technologies addresses challenges in the agricultural market similar to those faced in Japan, but with a unique solution. Their approach focuses on substituting parts or components to enhance production yields—an area that even major manufacturers have not yet explored.
