Kamarul A Muhamed is the Founder and Group CEO of Aerodyne Group, a Malaysian-founded drone solutions provider ranked 1st in the world by Drone Industry Insights of Germany. He led Aerodyne from a 3-person start-up in 2014 to a global company with a presence in 35 countries in just 6 years. Kamarul is the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2020” and “Technode Global’s Startup Leader of the Year 2021”, as well as a member of the Economic Action Council, the Digital Economy and 4IR Policy Council, the Bumiputera Prosperity Council, the Board of Directors of Bank Negara Malaysia and Forbes Councils. He is also an adjunct professor of UPM and KUIS.

“ IPO: A Destination or a Spring Board towards Sustainability“
Initial Public Offering (IPO) is seen as the final goal for a company due to the access to a very large and inexhaustible pool of capital. While it is true, however there are other goals that could be achieved by targeting to be listed. This session aims to shift the common mindset of entrepreneurs of “chasing IPO” towards using the IPO as the stepping stone to achieving bigger visions. It will also provide the “Secret Sauce” towards achieving IPO stage in Japan market. From the discussion, it will bring insights and new knowledge for the participants to open their perspectives regarding IPO.

Mr. Yasuyuki Konuma
Director, Executive Vice President,
Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc.
Mr. Konuma joined Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) in 1984. He has served in the listing, equities, and international business development departments. His experience includes being seconded to the Bank of Tokyo (currently, MUFG Bank, Ltd.). He is charge of developing and improving the listing rules for ETF and other asset backed products and bringing them to the TSE market. He also leads activities to encourage domestic and overseas companies to list in Japan and increase their corporate value in the market. He graduated from Keio University and received an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
